A collage enhanced with watercolor
Today was an art day for me. I visited the Honolulu Academy of Arts to take in several exhibitions, and sat in the Chinese garden to take a break and sketch this view which is door to the Japanese Gallery.
This was done on a lovely train ride from Kyoto Station to Kurodani, a washi paper making village. Saw lots thatched-roof farmhouses, cosmos flowers, rivers and temples. A nice day trip from Kyoto to see papermaking.
This in an India ink and bamboo pen drawing in my Moleskine. The Chinese characters come from a rubber stamp. Just playing with new media today.
I love to imagine cats with interesting thoughts and social lives. These cats I believe are attending a rock concert and are made up in their finest.
This is a dream I had this week after enjoying an evening looking in galleries and shops with some artist friends. Done with oil pen and Sai Watercolor Brushes.
