Took a walk through a cemetary next to the bowling alley to kill some time before league. It has been so warm here lately there is no reason not to do some outdoor sketching until the mosquitoes start to swarm.

Walking through a cemetery and I think I did this sketch of a statue entirely on location last fall. Next time I’ll try to get the eyes to line up right, and I think the nose is a little too long also.

Sketched some trees in pencil on the golf course last fall, just got around to inking them. It’s hard to due a full blown sketch on the golf course while playing unless the group in front of you is slow, and there is no group behind you.

Last day of my Chicago trip last fall. Sears/Willis tower from the lakefront, and waiting in the train station to go back to Michigan.

It seems when I’m in Chicago I always end up at Bennigans right across from the art institute. I drew a glass of water since I was dehydrated from walking so much, and a sketch of the bronze lion statue that is across the street.

Did some real rough pencil sketches in Chicago last fall, just went back and inked them recently. Crown fountain on the left, openend in 2004. Buckingham fountain on the right, dedicated in 1927.

Sketch I did a while ago (and forgot about) on site before a football game last year. Beaumont Tower is one of the landmarks of the university, a popluar place for wedding photographs and a nice study spot when the weather is nice. With 8″ of snow last night not so much now.
