Had a bit of a break in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. It was good to relax and get away from work for a while. This is St Catherine’s Island, a small island linked to the beach at low tide. The island is home to a Palmerston fort, constructed to protect Pembroke Dock and completed in 1870. In 1907, the island was sold privately for 500 pounds. Apparently at one time the fort was used as a zoo. Unfortunately it’s fenced off now and you can’t get on the island.

2010Jul 7This is the other beigel shop on Brick Lane. Two doors down from the one I posted yesterday. Apparently it’s Britains first and best, but I’ve not tried them so couldn’t say. I’ll have to pop in next time I’m around there.

2010Jul 6Had a wandered about in the sun on Saturday and had a look in a few galleries. Modern Toss, is definitely worth a visit if you get the chance, it’s on until 11th July. Stopped off for lunch at this beigel shop on Brick Lane just around the corner. Had their salt beef beigel, and very nice it was.

2010Jul 2Been doing a lot of sketching on the tube this week, usually have my head down in a book, but decided to get the sketch book and a pencil out this week instead. Two drawings from yesterday, one from the morning and the other on the way home.

2010Jul 1Sketched on the Tube, Northern Line from Kennington to Kings Cross. They weren’t all there at the same time. Started off with an empty carriage and drew as people got on and off.
