Margie Deeb was the first artist/author to publish a book on color specifically addressing the challenges presented by working with glass beads. She is also the first – and only – artist to produce a podcast about color. Her 5th book, The Beader's Color Palette, published by Watson-Guptill, hit the shelves in June 2008. She is featured on the 2008 season of the PBS show "Beads, Baubles, and Jewels," and in numerous magazines and books. Her passion for color and movement is the driving force in all her creations. In addition to her visual arts in oils, watercolor and charcoal, she is also a musican. Margie teaches her color seminars, "A Passion for Color," "Around the Wheel in 5 Hours," and "The Emotions of Color" to artists of all mediums across the country. Her work is shown and sold in galleries and boutiques, and she is available for teaching and speaking engagements. She lives near Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, composer Darren Nelsen, their Dalmatian, greyhound, a 20-year old koi, and many shubunkins.

I’ve added the skull photo to to the previous drawing/face image. Now I understand what was wrong with the proportions in the forehead area: specifically the issue with the eyebrows being located on the super orbital ridge. I had placed the top of the skull too high, way too high, in my initial drawing. The super orbital ridge is located halfway between the center of eye socket and top of skull. So that’s why the green line indicating eyebrows is way off.
The vertical blue bar indicates the constant: that which I aligned all three images up with. (By the way, in the skull photo, the red band around the whole skull is a rubber band I rigged to hold the mandible/jaw to the skull itself, since they are two separate pieces.)
I’m so relieved to find out what I had done wrong, and wouldn’t have known had I not shot the skull photo and placed it here – great idea, Bob! Thank you!. I’m going to do more like this, and work with them more accurately now that I know what I’d done wrong.

using the recommended proportions, I drew the face over the grid I made (used photo for reference). Then I placed the photo next to the drawing (in Photoshop) and sized it from middle of eyes to chin to fit the existing grid. I wanted to see what, if anything, lined up with the drawing.
There’s no way that eyebrows could be as high as that upper green line (the super orbital ridge). One would look like one had a botched face lift. Notice the mouth is lower on the drawing than in the photo. Other than those two items, everything else lines up relatively closely.
