Because I have a tendency to be too technical, I limited myself to a large paintbrush when rendering my hand. I was frustrated because I couldn’t create any detail, and I ended up with a hand that is more rugged than the original. I did manage to show the dirt under my nails, however. Very strange. It was a good exercise to take me out of my comfort zone.

Pen & ink of my dog Frosti.

This was inspired by my adorable dog, Frosti. Pen & ink used for the eyes, nose and mouth, watercolor for for everything else.

This illustration was the result of an experiment I did to see how the Moleskine Watercolor journal would react to flooding the pages with watercolor. The pages actually flattened out after it dried. The image was inspired by how I was feeling at the moment.

The first letter in my Moleskine Sketchbook Alphabet Series. Water color pencils, marker, pen * ink and gold pen were used.

The letter “S” in my Alphabet Sketchbook Series. The shape on the left is from a cutout that was borrowed from the previous letter “R”. This shape exposes a pink background created with Aquarelles water pastels topped with silver spirals. The blue background was created by applying tissue paper to acrylic paint. Once dry, black and silver were used to add dimension and a silver “S” was painted.

Another letter in my Moleskine Sketchbook. This pop-up letter “V” was inspired by the symmetrical quality of the book and pages. The large “V” was created by folding the bottom corners of 2 pages in to the middle and pasting them together. V-shaped flowers in different fonts were attached to the inside of the “V”. which was glued to the adjoining pages so it pops up when the pages are opened. http://www.journalingarts.wordpress.com.
