Wonderful mid-March (not mad-March) weather here in France and the fruit trees are bursting into blossom… this was in a Mole’ lined notebook with Cerulean Blue Rembrandt pastel sky, fixed, then black ink with nib pen and water-colour dotted petals in whites and pinks with a 00 brush… in all, 30 minutes of relaxation!

Getting a bit edgy waiting for my eBay won Moleskine pocket sketchbooks to arrive, I made a couple of “Conté Pastels Surfins” sketches (on two different evenings) in an ordinary Mole’ ruled notebook, of my wife in a darkened room… she was watching a DVD, and trying to enjoy it, but her MS is very draining and it shows in her face and eyes. She ignored me throughout… I was surprised at how much abuse the ordinary notebook paper can take. However, it’s my first attempt and I enjoyed the exercise… although I got woozy on the fixative fumes!
