The Bully. I didn’t really capture how ugly this guy is in the cartoon. Flip’s pose gave me trouble. Happier with some things in the sketch and also, some things in the inked came out better. On to the next! =)

2009Jan 7Funny Face. Another great Flip cartoon. After I drew this one based on the cartoon, I thought of better posing. Rats! Otherwise, pretty happy with this one. Oh, I’m not copying specific scenes from the cartoons. I watch them then draw from memory, going back only for reference. =)

2009Jan 6Chinaman’s Chance. I started inking this at work today, not remembering that I hadn’t scanned the pencils first. Fortunately, this didn’t suffer any from inking. It looks pretty much as I sketched it. This is my favorite Flip cartoon. The whole thing is beautifully animated from start to finish. Why Flip didn’t hit it off with the public, I’ll never know. He’s 1000 times more appealing than Mickey Mouse. Oh, 2 stars on Flip are redundant. =)

2009Jan 5Lost in translation. While I think I kept the spontaneity of the hag from pencil to inks, Flip definitely lost something in the process. Oops, and her arm seems to be coming out of her ear. =)
