What A Life. Another scene inspired by but not actually in a Flip cartoon. The hussy behind her flatfoot husband, has more than a few skeletons in her closet.

The Circus. Seems the hag is more interested in the purse snatcher than her purse. Pencil, fountain pen, and brush pen. Just to mention, I like using the fountain pen with it’s non-varying line because I figure that if a character is properly constructed it will have it’s own weight and not need the thick n’ thins of inking. Well, that, and I think it looks neat.

2009Feb 5Room Runners. Flip tries to skip out on his bill. Ah, the golden age of The Depression, made for great cartoons. Let’s see what it does this time around.

2009Jan 31Bugs Bunny Comic Cover. Another study done for the John K. blog. I got a critique by the man himself. He dug it! =)

2009Jan 30Tom takes a punch! This was copied from a Tom & Jerry comic cover posted on John K.s blog for study. I came pretty close.

2009Jan 20The Office Boy. This one was a toughie, trying to get all the elements together and have it read clearly in the pocket-size book that I use. All sorts of innuendo in this cartoon and drawing and not so subtle, at that.

2009Jan 15Movie Mad. Flip tries to get over on the studio security guard. The Flip in this short is the earlier, froggier-looking version. The version that really didn’t find any appeal with audiences. Ub really messed up with picking a frog for his star character and then to made him ugly to boot…? Had Flip looked like this from the outset, maybe he woulda done better with the public.
