This is one of those you paint 100 rejects to achieve. It was worth every reject I created to get here. I am thrilled with this. Don’t know if you can tell when you look at it on the monitor, but it has a very luminous quality in person – it looks almost metallic and sparkles. And it’s only ink. I think the juxtaposition of values gives it that effect, but I’m not sure.

It definitely works. Love the light, direct and indirect and reflected light. Beautiful!

Roseindigo, you point out something I think adds to the luminous quality: the very bright DIRECT lighting on the left, and the much less bright INDIRECT of REFLECTED (not sure of the source) lighting on the right. I hadn’t thought of it that way prior to your comment. Thank you.

Beautifully done, like it a lot.

Some of these have an otherworldly quality. You know how the judges on Superman 1 are yelling, “Guilty! Guilty!” When I was little at Casa Bonita (theme restaurant in Denver) they had a talking well and the guy was distorted and green kind of like this. So they are not just technically good but have some character as well.

Thank you, Sophie… I understand what you are saying about other worldy.
