The thorns on these are vicious, and it’s best to wear leather when picking them. Alas, all I had was denim, and I still have sores where they “got” me. But it was worth it. These are wild blackberries, small but intensely sweet, and I try to pick some every year to savor during the bleak winter months.

Another beauty Rose! I love it. I enjoy to watch your creation as much as I love to eat blackberies (and I really do)!

Beautiful! and yummm! I found a great black berry picking method I have to share. Hang a bucket with handle on your left arm. Then using your left hand, use some longgg tongs to grab and pull a branch towards you. The tongs allow you to (safely) hold the branch so you can pick with your right hand into the bucket. The branch usually pops back into the bramble when you’re done. I found some perfect bbq type tongs that allow picking without stepping so far into the bush. Hope it helps! Love all your work rose. Thanks for sharing!

Lia, thanks for the tip. I think I will try that next year. For the time being I’m blackberried out.

I found abundancy of mountain wild blacberries and eat as much as I could! Rose, I must say I did think of you and this wonderful picture, while I was picking them. I ended up with only 2 minor sratches on my hands!
I dis see mountain ash (which I reckognised from your other picture, but did’n touch those…
