Go for it Joe. The only reason Margaret and I never had a dog, after we married, was we were both working and this would have been unfair on any dog to be locked up during the day, on its own. I did have an Alsation when I was small. The dog grew into a formidable friend who would come to the school and meet me. I was never bullied at school http://www.flickr.com/photos/28475994@N00/3217383411/in/set-72157612818506425/

Dogs are great for exercise and friendship. Nice drawing, by the way.

He was lucky that you found him, and he had a good life for 13 years. Now it’s time to give another puppy a good life for however long it will live. You’ll always miss the one that died, but the new one will worm his way into your heart just as much. I know. Been there, done that several times, and I can’t imagine my life without the one I have now who is also my best friend.

This is lovely…a wonderful tribute to the lucky dog who found his way into your life.

You’ll know when you’re ready but once a dog lover it’s a must have. I thought I wanted a dog and a cat wormed its way into my heart instead. I hunt and gather, open the cans, act as massage therapist and have the opportunity to serve in many other capacities. She roosts on my neck when I am sick, stands on the back of the toilet and puts her feet on my shoulder, cries when I open the door coming home because she’s so excited to see me. You might want to at least think about rescuing an adult dog if you see the right one, and we all know the “right one” when we see it. You go in looking for a wolfhound and come out with a pug. I had never wanted a cat and there she was…I don’t know what I would do without her.

Thanks for the comment on my blog – just in Korea teaching. A bit of time away from the US. Dig your work – I’d like to flip through a sketchbook as I feel it’d have so much more impact in series.

I had a dog for 11 years, we found each other on the streets of Moscow. After she died for many years i could not look at another dog, even I tried. But now I have two and its a different type of love, but it is happiness. Wonderful drawing.
