Great stuff, but you left out the most important part, the eating. You are so lucky in Galveston, cheap oysters. I live in Seattle, we have some of the best in the world, and many varieties, but they are $$$$$$$

Haha, you are right. If you ever visit the Houston area I can recommend some joints with awesome oysters almost for nothing.

Ok, I am on the way to the airport, all I have is a pen and my Moleskine, dont need anything else do I????
Oysters, beer, and a bit of Cajun thrown in, that is what I like about it there. Papadoes happy hour, could eat for cheap, always a good thing

Indeed. Pappadeux is cool but a little on the chain sid. One of my personal favourites is Gilhooley’ @ the Texas City area ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/gilhooleys-restaurant-dickinson). The place has quite a rep, is affordable and all his menu revolves around the delicious mollusks.

Could not agree more, I love the looks of Gilhooley’s. Often I am traveling on business and only get to what is near, but next time I am in Houston, you may get contacted
