St Mary the Virgin Church at Week St Mary on the Devon Cornwall Border. This was early Morning sitting in the shadow of a large tree on a memorial bench. It was chilly.
There were several rooks about calling and this heightened the atmosphere of this rugged looking Cornish Churchyard.
I cannot remember the rhyme that tells you if they were rooks or crows. I think it goes:- if you see a rook its a crow and if you see several crows they are rooks!
I seem to have done a few religious things lately, purely by coincidence!

This is nice. Good to see your break has been productive. I think the riddle you are after is the answer to the question:
What’s the difference between a crow, a rook and a raven?
If you see one rook, it’s a crow.
If you see lots of crows, they’re rooks.
If you see a raven, you are in the Tower of London.

I was not sure if I had it the right way round Bob thanks for confirming my thoughts.
I did several other sketches and took a load of photos to work from.
I had a go in the A3 folio its not to bad with water colour IE not to much cockling.
I have started a drawing to paint in it of Crackington Haven,But my scanner is not big enough to take A3 so I may have to photograph it and again the file size issue may creep in, My Nikon D70 has big file sizes so I dont know if I will be able to get them on here!
It was hard coming home and going to work after 12 days of sun, sea, surf and beautiful landscapes round every corner.
I always promise to do more on the art front after every holiday but the reality of having to earn a living on a self employed basis gets in the way.Small things like this site provide much needed respite and inspiration!!
