It’s a little later than I thought it would be because I had to mail order a new moleskine, seeing as the nearest bookstores had no stock of the sketchbook variety. However, I now have a new moleskine for the sole purpose of practicing drawing. I’m a little nervous about what responses my work might get since I have no experience and negligible practice to my name. Hopefully the art will get better in time. Until then, here is what I’ve been up to.
The abstract swirl is Prismacolor pencils over HB pencil (erased)… done while having a girls’ night talk… the girl was just an conceptual model I drew to get my thoughts on a photoshoot I was preparing for out… it’s done with #2 pencil and crayola colored pencils

Congratultions of your first post. I’m no expert but this “swirl” reminds me of the clefs used in music. Was this intentional? There is a certain rythmn in your drawing. Now that you have cleared the first hurdle – more please. As Leo said, in one of his replies – “Submit everything”

Sketchbooks are for the purpose of practice and learning, and your first attempt here is very nice. We’d love to follow along as you progress.

yes, trebor, the swirl does resemble music clefs. although that was not intentional, it makes quite a bit of sense, since I am a passionate musician and have a weak spot for musical notation.
and thanks to both of you for checking me out.
