Faithfull old Roberts radio that sits on our kitchen table.
It has a lovely sound being made of wood and not plastic. Its seen some action over the years hence the missing carrying strap!
This is an attempt at the Tomlinson style hope Joe does not mind.
Using Pitt pens and Letraset manga markers for the red,I did not think they would go through but they did and onto the next page as well! So be careful folks if you use these.

don’t mind at all. looks great, i’ve run into problems with different styles of markers bleeding through as well. some more than others. faber-castell (pitt brushtips) and sakura pigma micron (brushtips) don’t bleed through.

Thanks Joe.The Letraset pens are solvent based of some type and go through almost anything, but they don’t leave many overlap marks.
I have been enjoying your series of posts on derelict buildings in the woods.Do you start in pencil and then ink over that? I would not be confident enough to go straight in with the ink and still achieve the sharp look that you get.

Don’t the old things have a certain charm, Nick? In the National Museum, here, there is a section devoted to artifacts of “recent years”. There are many old radios and record players. Every time I look at them I expect them to play stuff from years gone by.

Like Joe said, there are some that don’t bleed through, but most of them do, even through the thicker watercolor paper. I don’t mind the back side of whatever I’m working on bleeding, but I don’t want a brand new page with marks all over it, so I use several layers of paper underneath the page I’m working on, and then let it bleed all it needs to, and I still have a pristine new page for the next drawing.
Isn’t the Tomlinson style great? I’ve tried it too but mine didn’t turn out nearly as well.
