One of my favorite summer treats on the first page in a new A4 Moleskine Watercolor Journal. I love the larger size of the journal, it was nice to be able to spread out. I limited the color palette to just 2 colors to see how far I could push the colors.

OOOOOOOHHHH, I just love this!!! And my favorite flavor too! So what two colors did you use here because you got a lot of good lights and darks and depth into this.

Love it – this is great. (And not just because you drew my second-favorite food. Great job.

Thank you, both for your compliments. I used Alizarin Crimson and Thalo Blue for the berries. In some areas, I used the color straight from the tube. I was surprised that I could create such variety by mixing the colors. Adding the crimson really changed the look of the blue. I was planning on using some green to make the reds pop, but after using the blue, I didn’t want to.

I saw this and it took me back to childhood memories of my grandparents farm in Northern most Indiana. (USA) Thanks for the picture and the memories!
