We need some other colors besides spring blues and greens, I think; so here is a barn in autumn which I did last autumn. What interested me most about this one was the tawny grass, the oak tree and the cloud shadows in the mountains. It was another perfect painting day (no bugs in autumn) and the colors were intense.

I find lots to look at in this painting, even the shape of the barn which seems to be typical of your country, Is the double piched roof, at the left hand side, a guard against snow? Love your oak.

Don’t mind Rainey. She is one of my die-hard fans and I love her dearly. I must also mention that she is one heck of a fantastic writer, and lately she’s also taken up painting. So if she ever gets hold of a Moly, maybe she will join us here. (I think I will send her one)

Bob, not sure what that roof is for, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is because of snow. We tend to get LOTS of it here. I think this particular barn had a metal roof from which the snow slides right off. Most of the barns as well as a lot of homes here have metal roofs for that reason.

Another beautiful work of art! This series has such peacefulness and cheeriness about it. They would be wonderful for meditation. They are quite inspirational.

thanks Susan. It seems that ever since I’ve moved here, surrounded by beauty instead of concrete, my mind has been peaceful and cheery. So I guess it shows. I admit that I’m happiest when I’m outdoors with my paints and my dog and a gorgeous scene or intricate plant in front of me.
