This is a waterfall in the Feather River Canyon, and there is a railroad track that goes right over it. See the tiny human figure on one of the rocks? That will give you some idea of how large those boulders are.

Wow! This is gorgeous! The tiny person definitely shows the scale of this waterfall.

Thanks Susan.
As I explained to Bob in another thread, this is the waterfall in which I used white wax Crayola on the falls which gives the water a sort of feathery look. And every time I drive down that canyon I wonder how in the world those huge boulders got there. Of course, if we have a heavy snow melt than the river turns into a raging torrent, but still, the boulders just seem too large and heavy even for a torrent. A mystery, I guess, that I will have to investigate.

Simply stunning. Once again, I am reminded of a Japanese woodblock. I can almost hear the water hitting the rocks. I can’t wait to see what do next.

Oh this is beautiful! I love it! I’ve not logged onto Skineart in awhile and seeing this at the top is just what I needed! Thank you. The color of the water is sublime.

Thanks so much to all for your positive feedback. It is much appreciated. Mattman, I live in this amazing place which is in northeastern California, sort of a forgotten part of the state, which is one of the things I like about it. We don’t get much tourism here, even at the height of summer. It seems like few people know about us. All the tourists head for Lake Tahoe which is about an hour south of us and which is also very beautiful but very crowded. After 15 years of living here in this out-of-the-way spot I still think I died and went to heaven—-except in winter when I almost hate it. LOL

Just spotted the rocks in the shadows under the trees at the top of the falls a really nice touch.

Thanks for the tip about wax crayons. You use this technique beautifully in this wonderful wee painting.

I agree with everyone except to say that we don’t have enough green in this world. Perfecto!
