Hey, I’m on a roll. I sat on a mountaintop to paint this while my dog rolled in some horse doo-doo. So when I was done we had to go down to the creek to give her a bath. I sure wasn’t going to drive all the way home with that smell! It was a GORGEOUS day!

I adore all of your little masterpieces!

Thank you so much Linda, but believe me, most of them are NOT little masterpieces at all. It’s kind of like photography where you have to take a lot of photos to get a couple of good ones. But I don’t worry about it in a sketchbook because that’s where I experiment with what sometimes turn into disasters.

Nice work. It makes me feel like packing my tent and heading off for a few days.

Mattman, what’s so nice about my area is that the county is 75% forest service land, so there are many, many places to camp, most of them not even crowded in the summer, and most of them are right by a gorgeous lake or river. In spring it is green like this, and in the autumn the landscape turns russet and copper and red and tawny gold with the green pines as a contrast. I’ll post some autumn pictures soon so you can see. And the landscape is huge so that human activity is almost like toys scattered around. It’s still amazing to me even after all these years.

It sure is different to the countryside over here. I’m looking forward to seeing your next pieces.
