I often use markers because they cover a lot of paper with color quickly, especially for field sketches.

Ha! This is what happens when it’s raining outside and you get stubborn. Some of them actually do show up in preview so they can be posted. Anyhow, this is for Bob, since he loves trees. This is an oldie but a goodie with the right side of it pruned because there’s a forest service dirt road there and I guess they didn’t want the branches scratching up cars. I love this tree!

I really appreciate the sentiment. You are spot on when you say I love trees. I once turned down a promotion, on an idylic Scottish island as it is too windy there for trees to survive. Thank you. Your drawing is beautiful with the superb bark teture.
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earths flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
