I read Annie Proulx’s book ‘The Shipping news’ about 3 -4 years ago.I sat down the other night and just started drawing and this is what came out, my interpretation of Quoyles house.I later looked on the internet at the book cover the American version has a picture of the house being dragged across the ice the English version has a picture of the sea, my drawing has a passing resemblance to the one on the American cover, spooky!
Great book have very vague memories of a film that was no where near as good.My usual method of pencil and Pitt pens.
Check out the forums there is going to be a theme set for people to take part in during May and the more the merrier!!

Great perspective! I love the rope lines. This would make a great novel cover.

Thanks Susan,
where was I when they wanted the cover design? Painting yet another wall probably!!
I must say that it was the guy line at the front that I was pleased with it really leads the eye into the picture, something that a lot of the books I have read speak about. It may not be a great drawing in some ways but for me it works! Thanks for your valued comment.
