This was done on a flight (btw, the best way to make a flight go quickly is to draw in your sketchbook). I didn’t have anything in mind when I started. I just began with the dude and filled in the rest of the page. I then applied a couple of watercolor pencil washes over the top.

Looks like your destination was somewhere tropical. The creature on the bottom looks like it is under the ocean, which is an interesting contrast to it’s creation from way up in the sky. I like this!

Thanks Rudat! Yes, in fact I was going somewhere tropical. I think I was a bit eager to go swimming in the nice warm water, although the dark nature of this piece might suggest otherwise.
