Thanks Margie This was done with FW inks, which are acrylic based. I used flame red, and another layer over that with sepia, and the final drawing on top was a painting of walnut ink, i used that last really lightly building up to get shades of darkness.
Thanks, Ester – I am going to try these. I’ve looked at your blog and really enjoyed your work. We are both in Atlanta (actually I live up in Roswell). Fortunately I have a Dick Blick 5 miles from the house so I can pick some of those inks up tomorrow. I am curious as to what an acrylic based ink will feel like when I paint with it.
