black watercolor portrait
I was just thinking of how cool a portrait of John would be! Amazing job!
This is wonderful, Margie! I faved it early this morning.
Hi Dan – Terry O’Quinn has a phenomenal face to draw – I love the planes of his nose and shape of his head. I submitted another one I did of him that I like even more.
Thanks to both of you.
He ahs indeed, the shape of his face, the form and all those little wrinkles make him an excellent face to study or doodle just for fun. He’s certainly gained a lot of attention for some great artists around the net, you clearly being one them!
I’d love to see what other artists have done with his face, if you have a specific link in mind,m let me know. I didn’t know anyone else was drawing him. I love the lighting and characters on LOST and it makes for great portrait studies.
Yeah LOST isn’t just an amazing series it’s a “cinematic” experiance. HD makes it incredibly worthwhile.
I don’t have any specific links, but there is in abudance of stuff on http://www.deviantart.com
Just search his name and prepare for a treat.
Out of interest what brand of watercolours have you used here? They’re so amazing, almost look like copic markers.
Danny, I looked on Deviant Art and was surprised to see so many people drawing him! What fun!
I agree: “Lost” is often like watching a movie because of the way it is shot and lit. The way the faces are lit in dark scenes, and there are so many dark scenes, is amazing to me. I download the episodes and take screen shots to work from to understand shadows and light on the face. I’ve never seen it on HD like you mention – that would be great.
2 more great faces on the show are Abeddon (rest his soul) and Eko (rest his soul) which I’ve made several paintings of.
I have some of Daniel and Ellie coming up soon. Thanks so much for writing and giving me that link.
Yeah, it has some of the best lighting that I’ve ever seen! Esoecialyly when they have torches on their jungle walk abouts.
Anytime! Yeah there is some phenomanal stuff!
I’ll be keeping an eye out for Daniel! Definetely my favourite of the new additions.
Brilliant Abeddon studies!
I thought I’d give myself the assignment of painting all the main characters… but since there are about 80 main characters now, and they’ve just added more, I am not not so sure. I am also not so sure I could paint a portrait of Ben without spitting on him! Someone needs to!
Yes, all the jungle scene lighting is so artful. I began watching the show because of the colors and the gorgeous shots of Hawaii. Now I watch each episode twice: once for the story, the second time for the story and the lighting. I’m glad they are back on the island so we can see more shots of Hawaii.
Daniel is a very cool character, isn’t he? Not a good boyfriend, however. He’s let one girlfriend go insane and one die due to time-travel mishaps.
