These black ink drawings are part of a series of daily drawings I am doing in my moleskines. This one is of a paperwhite narcissus I’m growing. I’ve been drawing it each day as it unfolds and blossoms and hope to do so as it fades and dies.

Great idea to sketch the same thing every day. I tried photographing the same tree once a week for a year although I havn’t figured out how to get the shots into chronological order. Hope the final result is worthwhile.

I did that with a tree at my grandparents house when I was little–with the tree. What we ended up doing so that it wasn’t too crazy is that we just took a picture once a YEAR so that we could see the tree growing. It was kind of fun. He was a good guy but didn’t really know what to do with children until they were like 10 and could DO THINGS. You’d see a toddler clinging to his leg and he was SO UNCOMFORTABLE. It was so funny.
