Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands – Watercolour and Inktense pencils on a watercolour Moleskine
I noticed some snowdrops peeking through the ground, the other day, and immediately was transported back to our visit to the Dutch Bulb fields a few years ago. I thought this painting might remind you folks that spring should not be too far away. This magnificent garden grows many hundreds of varieties of bulbs all in individual beds. The colour is spectacular. I loved the way they are set in trees, Margaret reckons I paid more attention to the trees than the flowers. She’s right. I know it’s wrong! I promise to seek professional help.

This is so very beautiful – and a much needed lift for all I imagine.
The colours are gorgeous, in both flowers and trees.
Lovely

Beautiful!
Bob, have you tried the water brushes from Japan? If not, you must – I think you’ll love them. I have one and am crazy about it! Here’s a link:

Sarah. I suspect you are just as fed up with this winter as I am. I must be getting old as I am longing for springtime and warm sun. Thanks for your nice comment.

Good of you to say this Margie. I’ll try the jetpens – I’ve just placed an order. I’ve spent the last twenty or so years skiing in search for that “magic brush/paint” so maybe – this time. (Ski – “Spending Kid’s Inheritance”).

Wow, this is wonderful! I want to be here. You captured the serenity and vibrance of Mother Nature. Kudos, Bob.

Thanks for the nice sentiments. As for seeing the place -
Dead easy, Susan. Just get on a plane and “Be Here”. Lots of transatlantic flights use Schiphol Airport as a hub. The bulb fields are not too far from it. Once you’ve “done” that part of Europe pop over to our side of the North Sea. Cheap rates and no housework required from guests. PS Don’t make the mistake of going too early in the year or the bulbs will not be through the ground. We went around Easter time and lots of stuff was still hibernating.

Just gorgeous!

Thank you, mrosem. Spring has arrived here in Edinburgh and similar scenes can be found around our city as the spring bulbs make their presence known.
