Dusk, farm cottages near Bonnington Mains Farm, West Ratho – Ink/Watercolour on a Watercolour Moleskine.
From a recent photograph taken on a late evening walk. Everything seems crystal clear as the sun set. The temperature was about -2C so it was not the time to hang about. I liked the way the trees and building seemed to merge together.

those trees against that “cold” sky are fabulous!

You are too kind. I often find that the best views are to be found at dawn or late in the evening when the sky is clear and cold – and they are free!

Loving the silhouette. Your branches are so perfect, and it’s another wonderful sky. This inspired me to try my own (not in my moly tho’ so I can’t ‘publish’ my lesser attempt) !!

Sarah, you should try sending in your attempt even if its not in a Moleskine. Maybe Leo would make an exception. Alternatively post it on something like flickr where the first 200 photos are free (after that number 201 replaces number 1 and so on) Thanks, again for taking th time to comment and sorry to take so long to reciprocate.

Hi Bob,
Thank you.
Here’s my attempt.
I made it into a card.

Hi Sarah. Well done! You certainly seem to be busy with your “blog” (Other Moleskinners please view this). I read that you are “Self-learning” watercolours. Drop me a line – if you want at bobmcdowall@hotmail.com and I’ll point you in the direction of books etc which I have used. I am “self-taught” as well.
