Great idea for a post. I have a Canadian Dollar, given to me in 1968 as a “good luck” piece. It looks entirely different from the modern versions.http://www.flickr.com/photos/28475994@N00/3203992665/

Funny that you should mention the old Canadian dollar coin. I just learned the other day that the loonie was supposed to be the same canoe/fur trader image, but had to be changed because the mint’s dies were stolen:
