This sketch was inspired by a scene in the 1939 version of “The Four Feathers”. My one regret is not putting more negative space between the bayonet and the rifle, which would’ve heightened the tension. Much obsessing over a sketch, no? … Done with a Deluxe Micro Uni-Ball and a Tombo ABT N15 brush pen.

Thanks! I think it comes from watching a lot of Akira Kurosawa movies…He once said something to the effect that, motion in every frame was a necessary element…
