The Bully. I didn’t really capture how ugly this guy is in the cartoon. Flip’s pose gave me trouble. Happier with some things in the sketch and also, some things in the inked came out better. On to the next! =)

Man O man I love these! I’ve been away from this spot for awhile and am glad to see you’re still keeping the thirties alive. I just got a nice fountain pen I’ve been drawing with, and am searching for quality inks. Is the speedball stuff good? Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

I was away for a while, too. Just got back recently. Nice to hear from you. I guess we’re the only throw-backs of the Golden Age? I love the Speedball Super Black. It is just that – Super Black. I fill in the large areas with the PITT Brush Pen. Usually, twice over to get it nice and dark. I think you can see some bleed-thru on some of my pages. What fountain pen did you get? I’m using a Pelikan MC-120 Deluxe because I read that Sergio Aragones uses it. =) I’ve had it for a while now and am very happy with it though it’s not easy to find nibs. I may have to upgrade soon. This nib (EF) is becoming testy.
