Old barns. The property where I live was a cattle ranch in the late 1800′s. These old barns made of rock and corrugated tin are still standing. The building on the left was the blacksmith’s workshop. Wimberley, Texas

Susan, I find your description of this absorbing. The “romantic” in me immeadiately transports me to a different age and I cannot help but wonder what life was like for folks then. I bet is was a lot harder than now, they trying to wrest a living from land which, from your sketch, looks arid and stony. The good thing about pictures like this is they keep us in touch with our past and SHOULD help us to appreciate what we have. About 2 hours ago we had a power failure and, for the first time in years, lit candles, boiled water for coffee on the camping stove etc. Fortunately we have been restored to “civilisation”. No such luck for those old timers then! More please!!!

Concur with Robert, very cool and I hope you can afford to keep these buildings repaired for another 50 years. I loved west Texas, mainly the people but the place itself had a charm. On one hand it seemed that everything either had poision or thorns but if you take it all together it blew your head off.
