Wow!! What a fun subject to draw. Good for you.
On a cruise? Working a cruise? Armed forces?

Love it! I wish I had things to draw as interesting as these guys. This reminds me of “Master and Commander,” the Russell Crowe movie.

Nothing armed…well, we did have four cannons but no powder or shot to speak of, not in international waters anyway. I worked as a deckhand on the HMS Bounty, a square rigger.
The ship in question: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cefeida/3093898485/in/set-72157610873331221/ .You can bet I had the strings from Master and Commander running through my head the entire time I was there. Amazing place.

Beautifully drawn. You came that close?

I did. That’s the most amazing thing about the Galapagos, the wildlife doesn’t come out to hug you, but it doesn’t run at the first sight of a human, either. If you’re quiet and move gently, you can camp out within reach of the iguanas and they won’t mind at all.

I like the spontanaeity of these drawings! The iguanas look very alive because of how fast you had to work (and your talent, of course). If they were more carefully drawn, I doubt they’d have the vitality these do.
