Is the course open? – Ink on a watercolour Moleskine.
Wandering round the local golf course, the other day, To look at some of the magnificent trees there. I was amazed to hear someone ask if the course was open for play. Aye, some of us Scots are a hardy, if somewhat stupid, race.

Thanks Rob. This was made possible by following Boulgakow’s suggestion about stretching paper (see November 23, 2008) hence the nice wee border around the edges.

Very nice colors! It does have a nice, crisp look to it.

Thanks Susan. I did this from a photograph having remembered reading somewhere that, when painting snowy scenes, if the sky is “cold” (ie cold colours) then the foreground should be “warm” and vice versa. Not sure if this is true but it seems to have worked here. I wonder if anyone else has heard of this?

Stunning! I especially love the flag poking out from underneath the snow

Thanks for the nice feedback, 3lla. I wonder what else will be found when the snow melts?
