North Face of Ben Nevis – The highest mountain in the British Isles (4406 ft). Acrylic paint and ink on a watercolour Moleskine.
Ben Nevis, part of the Grampian Mountain Range, is situated near Fort William in the Lochaber area of Scotland. Although it is possible to “walk” to the summit (carefully) the North face is for steely nerved, experienced climbers only.

Nice job on this one, Bob. What paints did you use?

Thanks Rob. I used three acrylic paints – titanium white, ultramarine blue and burnt sienna. The sky was just ultramarine blue, the other blues were tinted by adding some white while I used a mix of ultramarine and burnt sienna for the very dark areas as well as the greys and browns when diluted. To finish I added some detail with black and dark gree micron pens.
