I specially like this one as for the arrangement of background and foreground, how the background completes the portrait, and how the mood is transferred. I like pencil drawings anyway. I’ve made a few lately but still prefer a rougher paper to the smoothness of the moleskin.

I know what you mean about the smoothness of the paper. I keep 3 moleskines going- watercolor, smooth yellow sketching, and this one- the blank paper- I like it better for sketching actually than the yellower one.

Also I usually spray pencil drawings right after they’re done – for protection – carrying a spray makes the bag more bulky (and probably means no airport access).
It’s a good idea to have different moleskins going !
