Just out of curiosity Rob, I would imagine that there are still a lot of old buildings in Eastern Europe since they were without any progress behind the iron curtain for so long, whereas in the West a lot of things are newer. Yes, it would be fun to spend some time there and look around. Hope you get to do that again. But even West Germany still has some lovely old-time villages. I lived in one called Weil der Stadt for many years. It’s near Stuttgart and still had a city fortress wall from the 13th century, very picturesque, as I recall.

Thanks for the comments. Stuttgart is about 3 hours from us. Maybe I can visit Weil der Stadt sometime.
