Autumn Beeches – Watercolour

Some beech trees, in the local woods, just on the verge of loosing the last of their leaves. This change has happened very quickly this year. The experts say its due to the fact that there has not been too much sunshine for photosynthesis to take place. This seems to contrast with parts of the USA which had a very warm and sunny summer leading to a great “Fall”. Jealous!

The method of painting the distant trees as well as the sky are attempted in the style of Rowland Hilder.
