Autumn Colours – Watercolour
Although our trees are not as spectacular, in their Autumn colours, as in other places (e.g. the “Fall” in USA) we can sometimes get a decent show. This is part of the shoreline of Loch Tay in Perthshire near the village of Killin. There are not many bright reds and oranges in our Autumn trees but this particular area can boast quite a variety of native hard-woods as well as the ubiquitous conifers. The further north one travels, the more the conifers take over so this is a kind of boundary country. Well work visiting – when its not too wet.

Joy! Our Favorite Uncle has returned to doing what he does best, watercolors of his beloved part of the world. A handshake. I’ll have to try my hand at an Autumn scene. Thank you Uncle Bob!

Happy Autumn Bob! I haven’t been out of the house for about 4 days and so am not sure where our autumn is as far as progress, but it’s probably not going to be really great this year as things have been much to dry and the leaves are just turning brown and falling off. But maybe Mother Nature will surprise us. I will check on her tomorrow and see if she got her paint pots out.

And a Happy Autumn to you Rose. We have the opposite problem here. Too much rain. Although some of our trees are resplendent in their Autumn foliage its sometimes hard to actually see the things because of low cloud and mist. I’ll swap you some of our stuff for yours
Sorry that you have been indoors for 4 days. Hope everything is OK

All is well. My son was here and helped me move furniture and so I am re-organizing and gleaning again, filling boxes full of “stuff” I don’t need, washing windows and generally getting ready for winter and snow. I’m fine about the gleaning except where my art supplies are concerned. Like you, I have too many of them and simply feel I can’t eliminate more because “I might need them some day”. I’d have to live 10 lifetimes (or more) to use all I have right now, but it’s all precious stuff that needs to be re-organized. I’m sure you know what I mean.
I did run some errands yesterday, and autumn here is nowhere near in full splendor except for spots of bright color here and there. But the oaks are greenish yet, with too many dry brown leaves, so we shall wait and see if the color improves by the end of the month. Sure wish I could send you some of our sunshine in exchange for a few drops of precious rain.
