Hey, I just went to your site to look at all your other FOTB 08 sketches. I really love them!
I was there too (and the 10mins of live coding will stay with me permanently . how in the world did you sketch during the talks? it was PITCH black. or did you take photos and sketch later…? your lines have got a great loose feel to them which is pretty difficult to get working from photos, so I’m really curious as to how you work…
Yes, you’re right it was really dark. I asked if they could lift the lights a bit as I got asked to come down to draw but “no way”. I only did 2 drawings in the main venue and these were right at the front row where it was a bit lighter (light from the spotlight and screen).
This sketch was in the corn exchange which was light enough to draw in.
I add colour when I get home. I do take photos and work on my drawings a bit more later.
