Hi, Rene. Thank you!
Yes, I´m not interest in reality. I´m looking for the essence. But some times I can´t get it and my pages are just abstract. We´ve got many rain days on this spring here in Rio. Well, this is what we see every day by the beach.
Actually, you should try!
My “problem” is a scene i see or that i want to draw sucks me in when i start drawing it. The picture leads its own life, even if its different than reality. I assume you strart out with more abstract notions? like “rain” “stone” “fire” etc? Should give that a try.
I understand what you mean. I had seen in your blog the case of “Flea market in Vise”, the drawing ask you for the shadow, and your solution was perfect.
May be the diference could be in the abstract matter.
eu caio e fred estamos fazendo um trabalho sobre walter benjamin, usando seu processo atual de cadernos e sites como referência e discutindo profundamente obras suas… vc é incrível! amamos seu blog!!!

I really like the way you use reality (like this pouring rain) into these abstract sketches. Makes me wish I could do that.
