A Promise of Spring – Watercolour
During a walk, this morning, I was delighted to see many bunches of snowdrops in full bloom. This is not unusual except it has been some time since I’ve seen this “first sign of spring”, in the local woods. The reason is that the winters of the two previous years saw record snowfalls and the wee plants were under all of this. After this year’s relatively mild winter the plants are visible. It was a wee bit chilly at -3C but the sight of these warmed me up. My scene attempts to show just some of these tiny plants with a very young beech sapling behind.
