Somehow this reminds me of Winston Churchill. Very different use of color but there does seem to be a similar sensibility. Maybe just good landscapes, I don’t really know.

    Thanks Sophie,

To receive nice comments is always great but to be put into the same league as WC, no matter how small, is high praise indeed. Thank you!

    I recognized it right away.
    Really nice work.
It’s a great view from up there as well.

The road should cut through there right?

    Hi Bruce.

This sketch was copied from a painting I did, on site, in 2006. The main road runs parallel to the foot of the scene and I was working from this side of it. There is a small loch behind me. The road eventually curves around the right side of the trees (about 1 mile further on) and there is a path up past the “Old Man” - the cone shaped rock on the horizon. I never quite made it to the top but my wife did.

Thanks for your kind comments and I’m glad you could recognise the place

Thanks for the comment Alexander. It was a good day. Even the midges left me alone.
