An apple cactus fruit. Cereus peruvianus. I have several growing in my yard. I find the fruit sweet but somewhat seedy. Congrats!

I am in Gilbert, Arizona. Some 30 miles east of Phoenix, it is the northern most region of the Sonoran Desert which starts in Mexico, then ends in central Arizona.
