Apple strudel, family recipe. Ink, Kuretake pens, touch of blue watercolor Dr. Martin (from DickBlick store) on old paper. Getting back to ink after pencil sketches.

Another appetizing beauty. How are you liking the Dr. Martin’s?

Thank you Eileen. I have only two colors of Dr. Martin’s. I used blue here a tiny bit. I like when color as soon as you apply and move while wet – getting stiff after drying and you can go on the top with something else. Dr.Martin’s is movable. I think I should get more colors and put drops on round palette and play with it. Did you use it?

Hi Nikira, I used Dr. Martin’s many years ago in art school primarily as transparent watercolors – mixing, diluting, straight from the bottle. I always found their vibrancy thrilling and used them for a long illustration project right after school. The irony is I really prefer to work in earth tones/black & white – simple and subtle. Hope you enjoying playing with them, they are fun and can teach you a lot.
