Bad Weather Approaching – Ink and Watercolour
The ship, in the foreground is becalmed while the one further back is about to be hit by bad weather. Its always amazing how conditions, at sea, vary from place to place even over a short distance. This scene is from a morning’s efforts looking at old prints of ships from the 17th century. The one in the distance reminds me of the “Flying Dutchman” – the vessel doomed to journey forever never being able to reach its destination. A bit like the railway system I suppose.

This is so stunning. The water is so beautifully implied here.

Very kind of you to say this, Inkbunny. Water is something I usually don’t get right but it seems to have gone OK this time. If only I could remember how I did it
