Down by the riverside – Watercolour
Inspired by a cycle run, the other day, through Almondell Park. I sat and sketched for a while, took plenty photos and also a couple of small videos. These links show the videos and, if you turn the sound up, you can hear the wonderful music from the River Almond which is eternally soothing.

Very nice river scene my dear GS. Did you use sponges to create this appealing softness?

Thank you, GP, Arqetancourt and Nancy. This was a record from one of my best days for a long time. This particular area is so dear to me – its where I come to relax and unwind and its full of trees which always are nice to look at. I cannot imagine a world without such places. GP (Ziza is my adoptive Grandfather) – I used small children’s brushes from IKEA to stipple the paint to represent the foliage and Arqetancourt/Nancy yes the place is so peaceful and nostalgic. Thanks to the three of you for such nice feedback

Just had a chance to enjoy the videos. Brings back memories of painting near the streams in Yosemite. Thanks for sharing.

Uncle, you have splashed off yet another magic woodland watercolor. I particularly enjoyed the water depicted with elegant understatement. I could never do so much with so few strokes. Highest regards! Greyseal

Wow Nancy. Painting in streams in Yosemite. Sounds wonderful. Hope the bears left you in peace.

Appreciate the kind words, greyseal but go easy as you are making me blush. This one seems to have worked. What you don’t get, on Skineart, are the thousands of failed attempts to reach this level
