November Theme Challenge! The contents of a trashcan

Following your kind comments to me, I looked at these again. I’m sorry not to have commented earlier but find that being retired seems to give me less time that I seemed to have when I was teaching. You hinted that you were somewhat less of a watercolourist than you hoped to be. I never jury anyone’s work but I will say that you have set out to get an idea across, here, and IMHO have really succeeded. The underlying humour, in this, is brilliant and appeals to my daft senses. The scene has all one could hope for. It has form, texture, tone and uses shadows. Nothing else needed except you also get the fun side across. I wonder what people would think if Leonardo or Michaelangelo had used their art for humour? He He. This reminds me of a song, sung by The Islanders Folk Group in the 1960′s Its about the slum clearances of Glasgow and people being moved out to the high-rise areas such as “Easterhouse” – in retrospect a huge mistake.
Down in the steaming jungle, in a cooking pot I sat
A cannibal came up to me and lifted his top hat
He said, “Do you ken, my brother Ben, wi’ the big bone in his hair?”
He’s living out in Easterhouse, he flitted there last year.
Keep these coming!
