If you have a really good idea you must protect it against theft. I am unsure how copy write laws work in the States but there is a definite difference between having a “patent” and owning “copy write” here in the UK. I may be wrong but to apply for a patent means you will have to disclose details of your product. Leaves the idea open to theft. This is why Coca Cola was never patented. If you think your idea is good then seek legal advice to protect it BEFORE you announce it to everyone. The short answer is get advice. its up to you whether you think its worth the effort and expense. I suppose some legal firms might offer advice against future profits but beware of this. I was once “burned” when something I “invented” appeared in a book and was copy writed before I had the chance to complain.
ps really looking forward to the end of September. Do you think any other folks, on Skineart, might be interested in some sort of meet?

Thank you very much, Bob and Joseph. Bob, I understand it is complicated, but then It will never be invented and I will miss it. It is already couple of good ideas shriveling without touch. Yea I had once showed my own work by new designer as someonelse’s achievement.
May be we should make a drawing announcing your coming to NY, so it will be more obvious? And put invitation?
