When I first saw this, “Oh!” I thought.
“Poor Grandpa’s finally lost the plot.
It really gave me quite a scare.
He’s drawing things, which aren’t there.
Why this asymmetric post?
With one side there, the other lost?
Did he complete the scene too fast?
Or has his mind collapsed at last?
Is this the start of life’s decline?
The downward spiral, end of time?
A bridge to nowhere fits the scene
of afterlife’s celestial dream.
Or is he trying to amuse, the rest of us,
so we can choose..
this posting as the best today
Should we just say, “Oh go away!”
You have, my friends, to choose which way
To send a comment, right away
As for myself I’ve had a laugh
Now go and paint the other half!!!!!!!
Oh Bob, this is a wonderful poem. You’ve hit the essence and all that with a bonus of a masterful rime! Thank you so much. You made me think of doing the other half to show I’m no more calf. Just tell me for a start what to include in the other part?
He He! For a start you have to make sure the other half matches up with this half otherwise its no good as a bridge. I’m telling you, it would have been easier to paint the whole thing first time round
Thanks for advise. It might be my famous Mostar bridge, but just as an idea. The real one doesn’t look anything like that (especially the buildings), but it sure did emerge from my subconsciousness in this form, or something… Just lost for words!
