A Trifle Breezy – Watercolour
So the end of the world didn’t happen. I’m beginning to wonder if the calculations were just slightly out. Parts of Scotland are being hit, as I paint this, by a ferocious storm with 70-80mph gusts of wind accompanied by rain. This WAS forecast despite the misguided predictions of Armageddon. At least we are spared the awful storms in other parts of the globe, especially those in the USA. Mind you, our American friends do not have the additional problem of the Icelandic people firing volcanoes at them. Is someone trying to tell us something
PS The TV has just announced that the wind reached 100mph not far from me. If I don’t see you again its been good to know you.

Seems like you caught the wind on paper here. Nice job! But please be sure not to blow away in that stiff breeze you are having.
I remember a story about my mother a long time ago. It seems the the “end of the world” sorts have been around just about forever. She was washing her windows when some people ran by the house yelling that the end of the world is coming. One stopped and asked her why she was washing windows when the end of the world was at hand and she laughed and said, “Well, if it’s the end of the world I’m going down clean.”

Ha Ha! Rose. It seems that the women of this world are the most practical. My granny used to insist we children have clean vests on (I think she really meant clean underwear) in case we had an accident and needed to be taken to hospital. Yes, it was breezy and more is to come tomorrow. I think the last of my hair is under threat.
